Writing a good ArtiPost.

When I talk about writing on Medium, I’m never sure whether to talk about the writings as “Posts” or as “Articles.” No big deal, right?

I’m not so sure. In my mind, they both have different connotations. One seems more professional to me, the other a little more passive.

It doesn’t make a person “less of a writer” if they are putting up posts. But think about it, if someone asks you what you are doing on Medium, do you tell them that you are writing posts or that you are writing articles? Again, may not seem like a big deal, but I’m sure that there are those writers that have a personal preference.

Why does this even come up?

When I read a post/article (< — ) and respond to the writer about it, I usually mention what I enjoyed about their post/article, herein lies the dilemma; which way to cite their writing? Is this conundrum worth of a headache? Nope, but I have one.

Maybe we should come up with a different word for this. If you write a “post for a blog” and you write an “article for a publication,” then maybe you write a “posticle” or an “artipost” on a venue such as Medium?

Posticle” sounds a little too, uh, posticle-ey. “Artipost” sounds a little hip and trendy — can you dig it, I knew you could. Okay, it’s settled then, ARTIPOST is in!

Thank you for reading my artipost and joining the Medium revolution to change the writing industry and eventually take over the world…muah-ha-ha!
